RDF WASTE

RDF waste: Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) is a secondary (alternative, mainly plastic) fuel obtained after sorting mixed municipal waste or residual waste from selective collection. It is used in power plants or cement factories. Thus, waste containing flame retardants, non-combustible waste and waste containing halogen must be filtered out. Among the halogenated elements, chlorine is used in large quantities in the production of plastics, the raw material for PVC – poly (vinyl chloride).

PVC is the third most widely produced plastic. It has good fire resistance, excellent chemical resistance and resistance to corrosion.

The main challenge is to filter out PVC-based plastics from RDF materials.

Information

Although Loacker joined the MOHU system in October 2025, we are still unable to accept RDF (waste for energy recovery). You can find more information about the waste accepted under the concession on the MOHU – Services page.
